About the Leopard 2 A7V
In 2017, the Bundeswehr approved an upgrade program for the Leopard 2 series, resulting in the A7V — an enhanced development of the Leopard 2 A7 (itself based on the 2001 Leopard 2 A6).
The A7V features strengthened hull front armor for improved protection, reinforced suspension, a 120mm L/55 main gun capable of engaging targets at long distances, and improved optics for low-visibility conditions.
Additional updates include new tracks, a redesigned turret rear basket, and various structural refinements. A total of 104 existing tanks are planned for upgrade, with units beginning to receive the A7V in 2021.
About the Model
This is a 1/16 scale R/C model assembly kit.
The Leopard 2 A7V’s exterior and proportions are faithfully recreated in large scale.
The model offers forward and reverse driving, a range of turning actions, turret rotation and main gun elevation.
Gun recoil and chassis movement are mechanically reproduced.
A gun-barrel control system keeps the main gun aimed in a set direction while the vehicle moves.
Compatible with the separately sold Battle System.
